January brought some very lovely days. With Scott’s newfound health and energy I was delighted to see this sight:
Nothing is hotter than my man doing housework!
Scott also led the boys in laying down a bit of free sod that was given to us.
With our new church schedule being at 9:00 AM we get long, luxurious Sunday naps. The boys like to read books before they succumb to their sleepiness. This is what I saw when I peeked in on them one day:
Just when I think my Boston is grown up he will pull something like this:
Or like this:
And I know that my baby is still there. Ah, those squishy cheeks.
One day we stained the boys’ treasure chests and a few days later glued rhinestones on them. They LOVE these treasure chests (purchased from Jo-Anne’s). I learned that staining wood is job for adults. It is waaaaaay too messy for kids!
The finished products:
Boston moved up to Sunbeams and his Nursery leaders planned a little “graduation ceremony” for the kids who moved up. A little unusual in my opinion but darling none the less…
It was quite funny how the kids just sat there in a daze, looking around like, “what in the world are we doing?”
Boston with Sister Crockett and Bishop Shirts:
My favorite part of the whole affair was being presented with this gem:
What the hair???? I don’t ever remember Boston looking like this but he obviously did at some point in time. Oh well, he is precious!
Stephen returned to school (Boo homework!) And I finally threw out “the pile” from his first semester.
Seriously, he is in Kindergarten and went through that much paper in one semester? Yikes! I kept it all just to see how tall the stack would get. This semester, I toss it pretty much every day.
Stephen got to have a 100th Day of School Party. These little things are such a big thrill when you are in Kindergarten! He is starting to understand the passage of time and is getting a feel for how long a few days, a week, or a month is. He is thrilled about his upcoming zoo field trip in March and, of course, the birth of his baby sister. He counted down the days to this 100th Day of School Party. What an adorable kid he is!
Stephen is now a CTR 6 and he made a CTR crown. He takes all creative projects very seriously and is proving to be a perfectionist, like me.
Boston continues to be silly and adorable and clingy (a new, and not necessarily wonderful phase, surely related to the impending loss of his baby status).
He made this paper hat all by himself and was so proud of it…
That smile is way too cute.
Another, not so fun development with Boston was his “head fungus.” It started with a scaly patch on his head that looked like cradle cap. After trying to get rid of it to no avail, I took him to the doctor and they told me it is a skin infection called Tinea Corporis. It is due to a fungi! Yuck! It is apparently contagious and we have no idea where he picked it up. He has to be on oral antifungal medication for eight, yes count them, eight weeks. Luckily, the medication goes down easily. He is slowly getting better but it is still not completely gone. Boston has taken to announcing to random people (like my OB) that he has a fungus on his head. Uhhhh, I am trying to get him to stop doing that. It is a little embarrassing!
