I totally forgot I had these pictures but they must be posted for posterity's sake.... Scott NEVER washes dishes. I am not complaining - on the contrary - he helps cook dinner, empties the dishwasher, clears the table, puts all the food away, and will even dry dishes after they are clean, but wash dishes or load the dishwasher?? Not going to happen. That's why the sight of him washing dishes for his Mom on Mothers Day is such a special occasion!
Literally I think the last time he "did dishes" at our house was after Stephen was born - almost four years ago! He even got out of it after Boston was born thanks to my sweet Mom!
I feel like I am on one of those camera crews for the nature documentaries...you know the kind where they film the "rare" and "never before recorded" events in nature. I am still in awe!

Six years ago...
Six years ago, today, I married my best friend. I am so grateful for Scott. He is such a strength and support to me and I am so glad that I have him with me through life's trials. There is no one else that I would rather be with. I love talking with him about everything and anything and he is always such a good listener and supports me in all my crazy ideas. I know I am the luckiest girl around to have him for a husband!

I love my boys!
I sat down at the computer to work on the agenda for my presidency meeting tomorrow...haven't typed a word of it yet...now I am blogging!
Have I mentioned that my boys are the smartest, cutest, funniest, quirkiest boys in the whole world? :)
We drove by the Mesa temple today and Stephen said "look Mommy, its your temple!"
"Yes, that's where Daddy and Mommy were married."
After a short pause and small sigh, "I wish I could marry you Mommy!"
(awwwww) "Oh, Stephen that is so sweet!"
"Yes, and then we could have CAKE! But not banana cake - that's DISGUSTING!"
(Oh, and did I mention that Boston can whistle? It is the funniest thing - he purses his cute little lips together and blows in and out and makes a soft whistle...I love it!)
(These pictures are random and not incredibly recent but they are cute anyway.)

fourteen may
I recently purchased the "Sunday Bag" pattern from fourteen may (arrived via email a day later) and ordered some fabric online (a new thing for me). I am waiting for the fabric to come in the mail and I am so excited to make my Sunday Bag so I have something cute to carry all of my Primary junk to church! I sold a bunch of stuff on Craigslist and saved up the money for the fabric 'cause it wasn't in the budget, if you know what I mean!
These are the fabrics I ordered - I will make my bag out of a combination of these...
See the collection at Hawthorne Threads.

Mothers Day
I read a poem on another blog a few days ago (don't remember where - sorry) but I just liked the theme of the poem more than the actual words. The author talks about how thankful they were that God was kind enough to lend one of his angels for a while to be their mother.
Case in point - today Mom woke up feeling very unwell...after awhile she decided that a trip to the ER was needed. My younger brother was ready to drive her to the hospital but before she would leave she managed to stand up long enough to put the roast in the crock pot for dinner!
**There is nothing too serious going on with her health - she is going to be home tomorrow.**
Ever since the day Scott and I were married, I have been blessed to have two moms. My mother-in-law is such a great friend to me and she is another excellent example of how to be a mom. She is such a strong person. I have learned so much from her and I am glad that she is part of my life!
I love you MOMs! Happy Mothers Day!
Now one last parting thought on Mothers Day is this hilarious e-card my friend Jen posted on her blog: What We Say, What Mom Hears. Click on the flowers in pairs to get maximum funniness. (left pink, right pink; orange, orange; etc.)
My Mom
I feel the same way about my mom. She is an angel and I am so thankful for all of things that she did for me as I was growing up and still does for me now! She is truly the most sweet and selfless example. Her main goal in life seems to be to make her family happy. Hopefully I can someday be more like her. I ain't never had too much fun
This is what we saw after a full day spent playing at Grandma and Grandpa Quist's house:
They don't often fall asleep in the car but bless their sweet hearts, they went right to bed without waking up when we got home.

My Funny Guy
One day, when I was pregnant with Boston, I was blow drying my hair - totally thinking about something else and a thought just flashed into my head along with a strong feeling, "this baby is really going to make us laugh!" I turned off the hair dryer, and told Scott about my impression. It was kind of a different experience for me - and kind of a weird thing to have an impression about. Well, Boston daily proves that he is great at making us laugh! We love this little guy and can't get enough of his antics. He really likes to wear Stephen's cowboy hat....
