Tonight we had some Red Barron frozen pizza for dinner. Stephen loves pizza so I thought this would be a piece of cake dinner without any battles. Well, apparently my little son has a very discerning palette and does not care for this brand of pizza. (Okay, when you compare it to my mom's homemade pizza it doesn't come close). He picked at it, eating some of the cheese off of the top and taking bites, chewing them for a moment and then spitting them out in disgust. Well, being the responsible mom that I am, I decided that he needed to eat at least "two bites of pizza" before he could get down. It was a mistake. He was absolutely determined not to eat it and because I couldn't blame him I didn't have the heart to enforce my demand. He kept saying things like "no, yucky!" and "crap" and "it's gross." (The use of the word crap is an entirely different story.) I watched Stephen throw his slice of pizza on the floor for Kloie the dog to eat. He kept saying "good girl Kloie!" over and over as she ate it. It was all I could do not to laugh because I just couldn't blame him. Luckily, Scott is much more firm than me even though he also thought it was pretty funny. He patiently talked and reasoned with Stephen and eventually triumphed. Next time I insist on Stephen eating something, I am going to make sure it is worth the effort (green beans, corn...healthy stuff)!

Kids are amazing! You never know what they're going to do. I probably would have done the same thing if I was in that position. Cute kiddo!
I'm interested in the crap story:)...and now you know when you make a homecooked meal, and he eats it, it's amazing cause he's a little picky apparently?/! Kids are funny. My niece doesn't like cheese....I mean, come on! That's just crazy to me.
