Out for a Stroll

Steve and I have been going out for a walk every morning with our dog Kloie. We started a few weeks ago with the $12 umbrella stroller from Target and have now moved on to a new (new to me - from Craigslist) jogging stroller. We go around the neighborhood which is sometimes like off-roading because the roads are in rough shape in places. We have a lot to look at - cars, houses, airplanes and helicopters, occasional stray cats and abandoned buildings. We also see a lot of grass trees, flowers, and blues skies! The weather has been absolutely awsome! For me it is an attempt at excersise - I try to run for part of the time. It is a chance for all of us to get out of the house and get some fresh air! I have decided that we live in the strangest place - it is a college, an airport, a neighborhood, a golf course, army reserve place, and an elementary school all rolled into one!

Happy Presidents' Day!

Who doesn't love a good newspaper hat? Anna and Stephen sure got a kick out of this one...or maybe the adults just got a kick out of putting the hat on their cute little heads. The kids don't actually look all that excited about it!

A Sad Announcement

It still seems very unreal but unfortunately it is true. At my regular OB visit on Wednesday we found out that we lost the baby. It came as a big shock because I had no symptoms that anything was wrong, also I was in my second trimester. The doctors cannot explain why it happened. I spent two nights in the hospital and now am home. I just thought I should post this since I just announced my pregnancy to everyone. While it was hard to tell if the baby was a boy or a girl we are sure it was a little girl. We were blessed by the support of our family and friends and by good doctors and medical attention.

Happy Birthday Talan!

On Saturday we went to Chuck-E-Cheese to help Steve's cousin, Talan, celebrate his second birthday. It was a fun party and Steve was very excited about all of the action and rides there. He is not quite ready for the games, but Daddy helped out with that part!

Odds and Ends

Since our internet connection is so slow posting new things on our blog has become more difficult - to make up for our lack of news here are a few things we have been up to lately...

Stephen tried to eat a bananna - peel and all - he got very upset when I took it and peeled it for him!

My couch potatoes...

Stephen loves to feed himself - the food seems to taste better... he says mmm mmm a lot!

New Years Day we went to Freestone Park with the Quist family. We rode the train, feed the ducks (Stephen loves ducks and says "cack cack" when he sees them), flew kites, played on the swings, you get the idea.... It was so much fun!

Big Brother

Stephen is going to be a big brother! I am 16 weeks along and the new little one is due on July 4th. We do not yet know if it is going to be a girl or a boy. Stephen wants a brother and mommy wants a girl secretly, but we will be delighted with either one! Here is Stephen sporting his home-made "Big Brother" shirt that we used to announce the news to our families ( a few months ago).

Cousins

Steve has started making a funny smile sometimes when he is being silly. We call it a sneer because he wrinkles his nose up and shows his teeth but all the while he has a little twinkle in his eyes. It really cracks me up! He and his little cousin Anna had a great time fighting over presents during the party (the Aaron Quist family opened some Christmas gifts early because they will be in California for Christmas). Anna got some "sweeeet" new toys and Steve seemed to think that they were for him- even the little doll! Here are some more pictures from the party, including Steve's new sneer and Anna who is just learning to crawl and is so very cute! (Look at those eyes!)
